Committed Staff
The teachers and support staff employed by the Renfrew & District Christian School are all Christian professionals who are committed to serving the Lord in their work and in their calling as educators of His children. The teachers at RDCS play a very important role in the Christian school and they have an awesome responsibility.Here is an introduction to our staff for 2009-2010:
Mrs. Sabrina Vandersleen Principal
Sabrina Vandersleen received her Bachelor of Arts in Developmental Psychology from Carleton University before going on to Calvin College to earn her teaching certificate. She has both a Christian School Teacher Certificate, and an Ontario Teacher Certificate. Mrs. Vandersleen has been part of our teaching staff since September 1992, teaching both full time and part time. She has been the Principal of RDCS since August 2006.
Mrs. Jane Wouda Part Time – Grades 5 – 8, Science
Jane Wouda has been teaching at RDCS since September 2000. Jane teaches in the Senior class as well as teaching Science to all grades. She is a graduate of Redeemer University College with a Bachelor of Christian Studies and Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a degree in Secondary Education. She has been granted her Christian School Teacher Certificate.
Mrs. Pamela Reid Full Time – Grades 1- 4, 5-8, Resource
Pamela Reid joined our teaching staff in September 2003. Pamela teaches in the Primary class as well as teaching Math and French to the grade 5-8 students. Mrs. Reid is a graduate of Carleton University with an Honours BA in Developmental Psychology, and Ottawa University with a Bachelor of Education and an Ontario Teaching Certificate. In the summer of 2003, Mrs. Reid earned her Resource Teacher’s qualification. A small percentage of her week is spent working in our Resource department.
Mrs. Nelly Kiezebrink Kindergarten / Preschool Teacher
Nelly Kiezebrink has been teaching Junior and Senior Kindergarten at RDCS for 9 years. She graduated from the Humber College of Applied Arts and Technology with an Early Childhood Education diploma. She is also qualified to work with students who have special needs. Before moving to Renfrew, she has taught at daycares and has been a Teacher’s Assistant in Kindergarten classes with Special Needs children, as well as teaching Special Education classes.
Mrs. Monique Van Lindenberg Part Time – Music, Gr. 4-8 Physical Education
Monique Van Lindenberg is a graduate of Redeemer College with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Christian Education. She has her Christian School Teacher Certificate and is currently working on getting her Ontario Teacher Certification. Monique has taught in the Christian School System for 6 years, 3 years at RDCS and 3 years at Rhema Christian School in Peterborough. Besides teaching at RDCS, Monique is the Dairy Educator for Renfrew County.
